Experience the best of St Ouen’s Bay

12 October 2021 | Written by Les Ormes

Boathouse Exterior 820

Just a stone's throw from the golden sand of St Ouen’s Bay lies one of our flagship self-catering properties - The Boathouse.

This beautiful seaside cottage, built from local granite stone offers guests panoramic sea views and a chance to stay on one of Jersey’s most hallowed stretches of coastline.

As part of our extensive refurbishment project, The Boathouse has been fully refreshed with furniture, stylish soft furnishings and a vibrant colour scheme that suits it’s oceanside location.

Keep reading to explore the newly refurbed Boathouse and to find out more about booking a stay in this unique property.

Granite exterior captures the classic Jersey look

As far as building materials go, you can’t get more ‘Jersey’ than locally sourced granite.

To add some contrast to the light brown and pink granite, cedar has been used for the cladding and balcony joinery. A frameless glass balustrade gives guests totally unrestricted views across St Ouens Bay.

Upside down living makes the most of the view

Head past the hot tub and through the patio doors and you’ll find yourself in the spacious, open plan, kitchen/diner. Modern white units as well as a new four ring electric hob and oven for the keen cooks amongst us, and a retro style Smeg fridge/freezer have been added.

At the opposite end of the kitchen is a tasteful dining area, perfect for family dinners or romantic evening meals.

Get the best night’s sleep in the bay

The Boathouse has two large bedrooms on either floor. Both have undergone refits with contemporary colour schemes, soft furnishings and tasteful artwork - it's all about the finishing details. The second bedroom can be arranged as either a double or a twin making it a great option for the kids.

The living room with a view

One of The Boathouse’s best assets is the first floor living room. From the comfort of the new L-couch, guests can enjoy views across the expanse of St Ouen’s Bay.

If there’s a better place to enjoy a glass of wine, we’re yet to hear of it. In summer, guests can slide open the doors, step out onto their private balcony and enjoy the long balmy evenings Jersey is renowned for.

To top things off, there’s a tub

A self catering property of this calibre just wouldn’t be complete without its own private hot tub. Comfortably fitting four adults, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is if you should watch the sunset from the tub or the balcony. Tough times.
