In Jersey, we are lucky to have a lot of activities around the island that don't cost anything and are great for everyone! From local walk routes and exciting playgrounds to some of Jersey's best attractions - you can get the best of both worlds, free and fun!
Stay on the west coast of the island to experience unforgettable sites! An example of this is the amazing Puffin sculptures along the Plémont headlands. These sculptures signify the arrival of the puffins and the island's role in protecting seabirds. You may get lucky and actually spot some puffins as you explore the headland but if not, the sites you will see will be breathtaking enough!
If you are able to drive during your stay in Jersey, you can head down to Plémont café to begin your walk. If not, the number 8 or 9 bus will take you there.
Did you know that Jersey is home to La Corbière, the most southerly lighthouse in the British Isles? Sat in a beautiful location in the southwestern corner of the island, it's a striking view for any passer-by and only a short walk or cycle from Les Ormes.
You can even grab yourself a cheeky ice cream whilst you're site-seeing!
Val de la Mare reservoir
This reservoir makes for an immersive and relaxing walk. The Arboretum at Val de la Mare contains trees and plants from all over the world, thriving because of Jersey's mild weather. Take a stroll around the reservoir and take in sites of beautiful wildlife & glistening waters.

Harve des Pas
Harve des Pas is only a short distance from Jersey's town, St.Helier. This beautiful bay features something totally different that can get the kids excited - a tidal bathing pool, replenishing at each tide. There is also a smaller children's pool, café, and public toilets/changing rooms.
Dotted along the bay there are little cafes and restaurants that would make for a nice meal after a day at the beach.
The Elephant Park is an old favourite of both locals and tourists. Named after the famous pink elephant slide in the park, this is a great free and close-by activity for the kids.
This park has lots to do, including the elephant slide, sand pits, multiple play areas, on-site toilets, and free parking. There is also a nice café in the park. Open from November to March (8am – 5pm) and April to October (8am – 7pm).
Located on the Les Quennevais cycle track, this skate park is only a ten-minute walk from Les Ormes. To get there, you will need to leave Les Ormes through its entrance, and head straight until you meet the main road. Turn right, heading along the main road until you reach the right turn by the 'Communicare' building. From there you will head straight down this road and reach the cycle track. Head right on the cycle track to reach the skate park at the back.
